My name is Lander Wells. I am a Software Developer based out of St. Paul, MN. I work at Leidos on Air Traffic Control systems as the lead developer on the adaptation team for the Common Automation Platform. I deal with any and all information required to configure our system at startup, which includes geographic airspace information, aircraft characteristics, and environment specific details. I primarily work with Postgres, Python, and C++.

Outside of work, I enjoy anything related to low-level programming. I am working on a physics based marble game named “Rollerball” with only the Sokol graphics headers. I have been putting more effort into maintaining this site, and writing articles about my experience working with OpenBSD.

Until I get a more detailed post up, I wanted to quickly explain what this site is, and how I work on it. As it says on the homepage, this website is a place for personal updates, blog posts, and notes. I also think of it like a digital garden, or for those familiar, a forever world. It is something I want to keep improving indefinitely. It will grow as I do.

I want to build an integrated system for working on the things I enjoy. The website is a jumping off point for me in that regard, I am able to work on interesting things, and in turn post about them. I can improve how I work on the website, and it begets more work. This is not the kind of work I want to shirk!

I used to use Hugo for generating this site, but Emacs, my editor is more than capable of exporting its custom Org-mode files into HTML. I use its export functions to write these files to my website directory hosted on my OpenBSD VPS.

Overall, I am looking to keep my workflow simple, and low-friction as possible to facilitate writing and thinking in the open.
